OK, I'll make this short and sweet...

Greg Marvin first came to my attention through a profile of him in Cadence Magazine 20-some years ago. I bought his two Hi-Hat releases on vinyl and enjoyed them immensely. I lost track of him until I came across this recording on the Timeless label. The lineup is top shelf and the music is wonderful and dynamic.

He studied with Lennie Tristano and Warne Marsh but that tells only part of the story. Give this album a listen, or two, or three...
